Free Brooklyn ambulance property with use limits

The law takes effect immediately and lets New York City give property to the Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps for free. The property is at 727 Greene Avenue, Brooklyn, and the corps has leased it continuously since 1989. It covers Block 1614, Lots 1, 79, and 80. The transfer supports a permanent facility, but the law sets no transfer deadline. The property must mainly support volunteer ambulance services and related work: emergency response, first aid, patient transport, and equipment maintenance. Allowed uses also include community health, preventive care, wellness, mental and maternal health, and training for emergency medical, public healthcare, and public safety careers. The transfer must include a binding use restriction. Ownership returns to the city if the corps does not accept the property or use it for these purposes. The corps can submit an accurate survey and property description for the transfer, but this is optional.
