Niagara can transfer small parkland lot

The law lets the Town of Niagara stop using a 0.15-acre parcel as parkland. The town can transfer it to Rajendra Sharma to add to his land and build a home. Before the transfer, the town must set aside at least the land’s fair market value. That money must buy new parkland or pay for capital improvements to existing parks. If federal money helped buy or improve the park, the town must follow federal rules and replace it with land of equal value and usefulness, approved by the U.S. Interior Department. The parcel is the mapped tract near Joanne Circle North in Lot 11, Township 13, Range 9. The law takes effect immediately.
