Authorizes the town of Niagara to alienate and discontinue the use of certain parklands and to convey such parklands to Rajendra Sharma

Niagara allows parkland transfer for a home

Effective immediately, the law allows the Town of Niagara, Niagara County, to end park use of a 0.15-acre parcel. The town can transfer property interests to Rajendra Sharma to add to his neighboring land for a home. Before this authority becomes available, the town must dedicate at least the parcel’s fair market value to parks. That money must go toward buying new parkland, capital improvements to existing parks and recreation facilities, or both. If federal money supported buying, maintaining, or improving the parcel, the town must meet federal requirements before ending park use or transferring it. Where required, the Secretary of the Interior must be satisfied that replacement land has equal fair market value and usefulness.
