Authorizes certain medical professionals certified by a foreign government or another state or territory to provide medical services during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 26

Visiting medical providers get temporary license exemptions

The law lets certain visiting medical providers serve World Cup teams in New York without New York licenses or certification. Eligible professions include physicians, physician assistants, massage therapists, physical therapists, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, nurses, nurse practitioners, emergency medical technicians, podiatrists, and athletic trainers. Foreign-licensed or foreign-certified providers can serve team athletes, coaches, staff, and delegations from the country that licensed or certified them. Providers licensed or certified in another state or territory must be in good standing and appointed by FIFA. They can serve athletes, coaches, staff, and delegations from that state or territory registered to train at a New York location or compete in a FIFA-sanctioned event in New York. Services must relate to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 during June 1–July 31, 2025, or the FIFA World Cup 2026 during June 1–July 31, 2026. The law takes effect June 1, 2025, and expires and is repealed July 31, 2026.
