Temporary practice in New York for FIFA medical staff

The law lets medical professionals licensed by a foreign government or by another U.S. state or territory practice in New York without a New York license when appointed by FIFA. They must be in good standing, and services must take place in New York. Care is only for their team’s athletes, coaches, staff, and delegation registered to train or compete in FIFA‑sanctioned events in New York. Foreign‑licensed roles covered include physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, EMTs, dentists, optometrists, physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, podiatrists, and athletic trainers. This applies only during FIFA Club World Cup 2025 (June 1–July 31, 2025) and FIFA World Cup 2026 (June 1–July 31, 2026). The law takes effect June 1, 2025 and ends July 31, 2026.
