Blocks landlord rent‑coordination software

New York bans software that helps landlords coordinate rents or lease terms. It is illegal to knowingly or recklessly run or sell tools that collect rent and occupancy data from two or more different landlords, analyze it, and then recommend prices or lease terms. Landlords also cannot set rent, renewals, target occupancy, or other terms based on those recommendations. Tools used to set rent or income limits under government rent laws or affordable housing programs are excluded. The law applies starting 60 days after enactment.
