New start date for close-friend donations
The rule allowing a close friend to donate a deceased person's body starts 180 days after this act became law. This replaces the start date of January 1 of the next year. This amendment takes effect on the same date and in the same manner as the related 2025 donation law. The Commissioner of Health has immediate authority to take necessary steps to implement the rules by their start date.
