The law sets the start date for the close friend anatomical gift rule. It takes effect 180 days after enactment. It also takes effect on the same date and in the same manner as the related 2025 chapter (S.3360/A.1395). Effective immediately, the state health commissioner can take steps to prepare and issue rules. These changes adjust timing only; they do not change who can make the gift.
