Late property tax relief for Thiells-Roseville Fire District

The law lets the Town of Haverstraw assessor accept a late application from the Thiells-Roseville Fire District for school and property tax exemptions under Real Property Tax Law 410. It applies to the 2024–2025 assessment roll for five parcels: 1 Angelus Drive and 69, 63, 63A, and 65 West Ramapo Road (tax map 26.09-4-11, -12, -15, -14, -13). The assessor reviews the filing as if it was on time. With approval from the Town of Haverstraw governing board, the assessor may grant a full exemption and correct the tax roll. If an exemption is granted, the town or tax department may refund taxes, fines, and penalties already paid and cancel any that are still unpaid. This act takes effect on the same day as the related 2025 chapter.
