Five extra years for gang-related crimes

Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma law imposes an added felony penalty for attempting or committing specified gang-related crimes. It applies when the crime is a condition of gang membership or involves association with a gang or gang member. The penalty is five years in Oklahoma Department of Corrections custody, on top of any other penalty. Covered crimes are those listed in subsection F of 21 O.S. § 856, replacing the reference to paragraphs 1–16. That subsection also defines “criminal street gang.”
