For sales and offers beginning January 1, 2026, Oregon law bars deliberately bypassing ticket-distribution controls, including through software. These protections cover presales and purchase limits set by event operators, ticket sellers, or resellers. Deliberately selling or offering tickets obtained through that software is also banned, and violations trigger Oregon consumer-protection enforcement. The rules cover ticketed Oregon events, excluding trade shows and movies shown in commercial movie theaters. Resales of tickets to covered Oregon events fall under the rules even when the resale happens elsewhere.
For covered Oregon event-ticket sales and offers beginning January 1, 2026, the law bars deliberate website impersonation without prior written authorization. It bans website addresses, including subdomains, that use or closely resemble venue, event, or performer names. It also bans misleading copying of venue or operator content and false claims of endorsement, including misleading use of “official.” Licensed or legally authorized users have exceptions; seating charts and seat-view pictures alone do not violate these rules. Violations are unlawful trade practices subject to Oregon consumer-protection enforcement.
