Counties can set or change the added fee for recording documents covered by ORS 205.130(2), after public notice and a hearing. The former $10 cap no longer applies, and the law sets no replacement limit. People recording covered documents may pay more, depending on the fee their county sets. Counties must deposit collections at least monthly with the county treasurer into the Public Land Corner Preservation Fund. That money pays only county surveyor expenses authorized and incurred to establish, restore, and maintain government survey corners.
