For tax years starting July 1, 2026, Oregon raises income and home-value limits for homeowners seeking property tax deferral. Claimants must be at least 62 or have a disability by April 15 of the filing year. Prior-year household income must be below $70,000, up from $32,000; net worth must still be below $500,000. The home's market value must be below the greater of an inflation-indexed $250,000 or a share of the county median home value. That share depends on continuous ownership and occupancy: 150% for under 17 years; 160% for 17–under 19; 170% for 19–under 21; 200% for 21–under 23; 225% for 23–under 25; and 250% for 25 or more. Starting with tax years beginning July 1, 2027, the income limit is recalculated using inflation and rounded to the nearest $500. The $250,000 home-value floor also follows its inflation formula, with amounts rounded to the nearest $500. Other residence, ownership, insurance, and eligibility requirements still apply. Deferral delays payment; it does not erase the tax.
