Beginning January 1, 2026, Oregon’s cannabis commission must regulate or ban marijuana ads likely to encourage minors’ illegal possession or use. It must also set objective packaging rules in consultation with state health and agriculture agencies. These rules must ban images or characters mainly associated with minors when likely to encourage illegal possession or use. Retailers and medical marijuana dispensaries must follow the packaging rules when transferring marijuana items. Other existing grounds for restricting ads remain in place.
