For the two years beginning July 1, 2025, Oregon adds $2 million in General Fund money for forestland grants. The money goes into the Small Forestland Investment in Stream Habitat Program Fund. Grants are for small forestland owners who qualify under ORS 526.402. This law does not set individual grant amounts or change those eligibility rules.
For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027, Oregon provides about $160.65 million in General Fund money for forestry. This includes $758,644 for administration, about $82.52 million for fire protection, $59.91 million for forest resources, and $17.47 million for debt payments. Separate spending caps cover fees, other agency revenue, and U.S. Forest Service money for fire protection and research: about $71.59 million for administration, $116.32 million for fire protection, $131.31 million for state forests, $36.35 million for forest resources, $10.65 million for capital improvements, $3.15 million for debt payments, $35.41 million for equipment, and $6.41 million for facilities. Federal funds outside that group have separate caps: about $2.87 million for administration, $21.27 million for fire protection, $1.03 million for state forests, and $59.88 million for forest resources. A separate cap allows about $2.56 million in lottery money from the Administrative Services Economic Development Fund for Gilchrist State Forest land-purchase debt payments.
