Oregon judges get training on interpersonal violence

Any minimum continuing-education rules set by Oregon’s Chief Justice must include evidence-based, trauma-informed training on interpersonal violence. This covers county circuit, Tax Court, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court judges. Training must address domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and related matters. The Chief Justice must consult an advisory committee and people with relevant expertise when setting the rules. The State Court Administrator provides curriculum and training opportunities to the extent directed by the Chief Justice.
