Oregon raises the fee to file a notice of intent to appeal a land use decision from $300 to $350. The fee to join an appeal as an intervenor rises from $100 to $200. Eligible intervenors include applicants who started the local case and people who appeared before the local government, district, or state agency. They must file their motion and pay within 21 days after the notice of intent to appeal is filed.
The law ends automatic filing-fee awards to the affected local government, special district, or state agency when no review petition follows. When the fee is not awarded as costs, it goes to Oregon's General Fund instead. This changes who receives the money, not what the person appealing pays.
