The law creates the State Fire Marshal Mobilization Fund in Oregon’s State Treasury, separate from the General Fund. Money stays available to the State Fire Marshal for emergency mobilization and positioning crews and equipment ahead of emergencies in Oregon. It also pays reimbursements under ORS 476.560. Sources include legislative funding, FEMA and other grants, reimbursements, and money from judgments and settlements. The law sets no dollar amount or direct household payment. By March 31 of each odd-numbered year, the department must report to the regular or interim legislative budget committee. Reports cover money received and actual and expected spending for the period starting July 1 of the previous odd-numbered year. The law took effect upon passage.
