Agencies must send statistics within 60 days

All Puerto Rico government agencies must send the Institute of Statistics every statistical report they publish. They must send it within 60 calendar days of the report’s publication date. The Institute adds these to the public Inventory of Statistics so people can find the data. Late submissions can trigger administrative fines up to $1,000 per violation. These fines do not apply to officials in the Legislative or Judicial Branch. If an agency produces no statistical products, it must tell the Institute as the Institute’s rules require. The Institute issues rules and takes steps to enforce these duties.
