Health Department drug inspectors gain law enforcement status

The law adds Inspectors of the Department of Health’s Controlled Substances Division to the definition of law enforcement agent. These inspectors are now treated as law enforcement under Puerto Rico’s Weapons Law. This clarifies their authority to carry and use firearms as that law allows and avoids status gaps. The change takes effect immediately after approval.
