Notice before AI-run government services

Agencies and public corporations must tell you before an interaction starts if a system is automated or uses AI. The notice must be clear and easy to see or hear. It must appear on all channels: websites, phone menus, kiosks, email, and mobile apps.

Right to human help in services

You have the right to ask for a human to handle any automated or AI-assisted service. Agencies must offer a clear, working way to move to a human at any point. They must handle these requests quickly and without retaliation or undue delay. Agencies must document the steps staff use to process these requests.

Puerto Rico tech office must set rules

The Puerto Rico Innovation and Technology Service sets the rules to carry out this law. It must issue the regulations within 180 days of approval.

Agencies record choices in automation

Agencies record and measure the choices you make during automated or AI-assisted interactions. They can use this data to guide internal decisions and improve services. This also means more tracking of your selections.
