Public access to traffic crash records

The law makes traffic crash and roadway improvement records public records in Rhode Island. Agencies must release them when asked. You still cannot use these records in court or in damage lawsuits where federal law bans it. Agencies can include a written notice that explains these federal limits. The law takes effect upon passage.
