Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Tiverton veteran credit now covers surviving spouses

Tiverton gives a property tax credit of at least $200 to a qualified veteran. The same credit now applies to the veteran’s unmarried widow or widower. The town sets the exact amount by ordinance, and it can be higher. This applies to real property in Tiverton.

Tiverton $400 disability credit authority repealed

The law repeals the state rule that let Tiverton grant a $400‑or‑more property tax credit to totally disabled homeowners. The authorization covered real property in Tiverton. If the town had a local credit under that rule, that discount no longer applies unless a new ordinance replaces it.
