Towns must treat recovery homes like housing

The law defines a recovery house. It is a home that provides support services for people in recovery and is properly zoned. Cities and towns must treat these homes like any other home in the same zone. They cannot add special zoning rules. They also cannot add building or fire-code rules not used for similar homes occupied by a household in the same district. Other state laws and local rules that apply to all homes can still apply. The law takes effect upon passage.
