New suicide-prevention rules at ranges

Shooting ranges must post a clear suicide-warning sign anywhere people shoot. Each sign is at least 8.5 by 11 inches, black text on white, with letters at least 36-point. The sign must show this in English and Spanish: "WARNING: If you or a loved one is experiencing distress and/or depression, call the 988 Suicide and Crisis hotline or text 'HOME' to 741741." Signs must be easy to see and cannot be removed or covered. Membership ranges must keep a member or staff with any non-member at all times, including while shooting. Starting January 1, 2027, every range employee must complete suicide-awareness training approved by the Department of Health. The Department of Environmental Management and the Department of Health issue rules to carry this out. The law takes effect now.
