Municipal police keep contract terms during talks

All terms in municipal police union contracts stay in place while bargaining. They continue until the parties reach a new agreement or an interest arbitration award is issued. There is no longer a 30-day window to demand changes in writing. This applies to municipal police contracts under the state’s police arbitration law. The law takes effect upon passage.
