Exeter veterans get $5,000 property break

Beginning with the December 31, 2026 assessment, Exeter grants a $5,000 property tax exemption for qualifying veterans or an unmarried widow or widower. Veterans the VA finds totally disabled also get a $5,000 exemption starting with that assessment. The property must be in Exeter, and you must meet the service and discharge rules. File proof with the local assessors by the sworn‑statement deadline. Your yearly savings equal $5,000 times Exeter’s property tax rate.
