A BILL TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY AMENDING SECTION 57-1-410, RELATING TO APPOINTMENT OF THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION, SO AS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 15, 2028, THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR SHALL SERVE AS SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION, TO PROVIDE IN SELECTING A CANDIDATE FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR, A CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR SHALL EXAMINE WHETHER THE PERSON POSSESSES CERTAIN QUALIFICATIONS, AND TO DELETE THE PROVISION RELATING TO THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION'S COMPENSATION.
