Temporary changes to legislature elections

The South Carolina General Assembly can hold elections in 2025 and 2026 without two usual limits. It may hold elections even if courts have not issued a final ruling on congressional districts. It may also elect Public Service Commission members without the usual Section 2-20-15 procedures during those years. These changes take effect May 12, 2025, and end December 31, 2026.
