The law sets the Gleason mayor’s pay at $400 per month. For the term starting December 2028, the mayor’s pay is $200 per month. Each alderman’s pay is $200 per month. These pay changes apply only if the city’s legislative body approves them by a two-thirds vote and the presiding officer certifies the result to the secretary of state.
This law takes effect in Gleason only if the city’s legislative body approves it by a two-thirds vote. The presiding officer must proclaim the result and certify it to the secretary of state. For the approval or rejection vote itself, the law is effective as soon as it becomes law.
