Less severe penalty for one wildlife rule

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law removes the Class B misdemeanor label for violations of one wildlife rule (subsection (a)). The old $500 maximum fine per violation under that subsection is deleted. Courts also no longer have the stated power there to revoke and require surrender of a license. This applies to offenses on or after July 1, 2025.

New $500 penalty for certain wildlife violations

Beginning July 1, 2025, violating another wildlife rule (subsection (b)) is a Class B misdemeanor. You can be fined up to $500 for each violation. After conviction, a court can revoke your license and you must surrender it. This applies to offenses on or after that date.
