Harassment law removes communication definition

Beginning July 1, 2025, Tennessee’s harassment law no longer defines the term communicate. It deletes the old list of contact methods, including phones, texts, email, and social media posts. Police, prosecutors, and courts now apply the term without that list. Courts and prosecutors decide how to apply the law going forward.
