Stronger PBM payment rules for pharmacies

The law makes pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) follow Tennessee’s prompt-pay rules for pharmacy claims. Late or unpaid claims face the penalties in the state prompt-pay law. PBM misconduct is now a defined violation under the state insurance sanctions law, and that sanctions framework applies. This helps pharmacies get paid on time and improves cash flow. The law takes effect when enacted and applies to conduct from that date forward.
