2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Broader overdose term and definitions

Beginning July 1, 2025 at 12:01 a.m., the law uses the word "overdose" instead of "drug overdose." It also removes the long list of crimes that defined "drug or alcohol violation." This changes which offenses count under that defined term. These are legal wording changes, not a new program.

Alcohol violations now covered, with work exception

Beginning July 1, 2025 at 12:01 a.m., these rules cover drug or alcohol violations, not just drug violations. But they do not apply to certain listed offenses when a person licensed under Title 57, or that person’s employee, commits them while doing the job. The exception only covers the specific items labeled (C) through (M) in the law.
