One petition and fee for sibling adoptions

If you adopt more than one sibling at the same time, you can file one adoption petition for all the children. The court can require separate petitions only if it writes that this is in the children’s best interest. The clerk must charge only one filing fee for the combined petition. This lowers filing costs and reduces repeat paperwork for families adopting siblings.
