Quarterly bail-bond reports for bondsmen, clerks

Beginning October 25, 2025, licensed bondsmen must file a quarterly report with the Department of Revenue. Reports are due January 25, April 25, July 25, and October 25 each year. Each report lists bonds issued, bonds by county, and your total liability by county. Court clerks who accept bail from bondsmen must also file quarterly totals and amounts. The Department of Revenue can use these reports to audit the bail-bonding tax. Starting October 25, 2025, missing a report is not a criminal offense.

Law starts July 1, 2025

The law takes effect July 1, 2025. Some rules have later start dates. The quarterly reporting starts October 25, 2025.
