Commissioner sets deposit insurance for state banks

Beginning July 1, 2025, the Tennessee banking commissioner sets the required deposit insurance for each Tennessee state‑chartered bank. The commissioner must consider safety and soundness, the bank’s role in Tennessee’s economic progress, public confidence, views of the state’s banking industry, and other relevant factors. The commissioner can issue rules under the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act. This supports deposit protection and public confidence for people who keep money in these banks.
