Intermediate license test adds bicycle signals

Beginning January 1, 2026, Tennessee’s intermediate driver license written test includes bicycle hand signal questions. The Department of Safety updates the driver manual to teach these signals. Applicants can study the manual to answer the new questions. This helps drivers understand how bicyclists show turns, slowing, and stops.
