Tennessee school boards and public charter school governing bodies must adopt and carry out report-card policies for kindergarten through eighth grade. Policies must require the latest universal reading screener score on or with report cards, if tested that school year. The latest dyslexia screener results must also be provided when applicable. These reports add to, rather than replace, existing home literacy reports and dyslexia notices. The law took effect upon becoming law and applies to the 2025–2026 school year and all later school years.
