State leaves interstate offender compact in 2034

The law sets a sunset for Tennessee’s Interstate Compact for the Supervision of Adult Offenders on June 30, 2034. On that date, the state’s participation ends unless it is continued, reestablished, or restructured under the state’s sunset rules. State justice agencies that move and supervise offenders across states must plan for this change. The act takes effect immediately.
