Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee’s children’s services commissioner must create a permanent statewide program to review service quality. It must include a state committee, regional review systems, and coordinators in each region. Independent, objective reviews use both numbers and descriptive information to track practices and outcomes for children and families. Reviews check federal, state, and department policy compliance, safety, stable homes, child well-being, improvement needs, and service barriers. The program must seek feedback from existing local advisory groups when appropriate and can create new regional or county groups. The law provides no funding or direct household payment.
