More ways to pay court costs and restitution

The law lets court clerks take payments by any noncash methods allowed under § 2.2-614.1. This covers court fees, fines, penalties, and child or spousal support. If a clerk’s office already takes fines or fees online, it must also let you pay restitution online. Offices do not have to build a new online system. Clerks are not guarantors of noncash payments, but they must use ordinary care when accepting them.
