Unemployed workers’ checks set by wage table

The law sets your weekly unemployment check using the state Benefit Table (Division C). VEC adds up the wages paid to you in the two highest quarters of your base period. Your weekly amount is the Column B number on the line that matches that total. Different table values apply for claims effective 7/6/2008–7/5/2014, 7/6/2014–12/31/2025, 1/1/2026–6/30/2026, and on or after 7/1/2026; the exact dollars are printed in the table. These table-based amounts enhance benefits under Virginia’s unemployment law.
