Summary

Advisory Board on Behavior Analysis; composition. Amends the composition of the Advisory Board on Behavior Analysis to require that three members shall be licensed behavior analysts or licensed assistant behavior analysts who have practiced for at least three years. Under current law, the composition of the Advisory Board requires two licensed behavior analysts who have practiced for at least three years and one licensed assistant behavior analyst who has practiced for at least three years.

Behavior analysis board membership and role

The law sets a five-member Advisory Board on Behavior Analysis to help the Board on qualifications, exams, and regulation. It must recommend licensure criteria and professional conduct rules for behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts. Members are appointed by the Governor for four-year terms; replacements serve the rest of a term. Two members are licensed behavior analysts or assistant behavior analysts with at least three years of practice. Also required: a licensed assistant behavior analyst with three years, a physician familiar with behavior analysis, and a non-licensed consumer.
