Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Divorce orders must list SSN or DMV

The final divorce decree must list each party’s Social Security number or DMV control number, if known. When you file for divorce, you or your lawyer must give this information on the state form. The form is the one the Board prescribes and the State Registrar provides. If a number is not known or available, it does not have to be listed.

Courts send monthly divorce reports

For every final divorce or annulment, the court clerk must file a report with the State Registrar. The report includes the parties’ ages, number of minor children, and each party’s Social Security number or DMV control number, if known. Clerks must send these reports by the 10th day of each month for the prior month.
