Commercial fishers and seafood buyers must display tags

Commercial fishers and seafood buyers must show license tags and ID numbers where the Marine Resources Commission requires. For pound nets, fyke nets, crab traps, and staked gill nets, fasten the tag to one offshore stake. For anchored and drift gill nets, fasten the tag to a flagstaff or a buoy visible at the surface. For vessels using haul seines, purse nets, trawl nets, crab pots, trotlines, or crab scrapes, fasten the tag in a clear spot on the starboard side or on the mast. Seafood-purchasing businesses must post tags in a clear place on the building, boat, or vehicle. Apply the issued ID number to each device and keep it on whenever the gear is in the water. Not showing a required tag or number is a Class 1 misdemeanor. The law also repeals an older section and folds these rules into the updated section.
