Virginia review to speed real estate salesperson licensing

The law requires Virginia’s DPOR to review how people get a real estate salesperson license. The review covers applications, exams, and license issuance. It also looks at intake, eligibility decisions, exam scheduling, and time from submission to license. DPOR compiles data on processing times, delays, denials, and trends. It convenes a stakeholder advisory group to find bottlenecks and suggest fixes. DPOR recommends legal, regulatory, and administrative changes, and makes quick administrative fixes where possible. DPOR must submit a written report with findings, recommendations, and actions taken to the Chairs of the House Committee on General Laws and the Senate Committee on General Laws and Technology by January 1, 2027. The goal is faster, more predictable licensing while keeping consumer protections.
