Bennington can remove town manager without cause
The law updates Bennington’s charter. The Select Board can remove the Town Manager without cause. A majority vote is required at a meeting set for that vote. The Board must give 90 days’ written notice, and the Manager may be suspended with pay during that time. A written employment contract can limit or change these rules. Voters approved this change on March 4, 2025, and the law takes effect on passage.
