More funding for primary care practices
Insurers and Medicaid must fund participating Blueprint practices through monthly payments per assigned patient, including shared costs for community health teams. These payments add to other payments and use a quality score or another approved quality standard when practical. Beginning in 2027, insurer payments must be at least as large as Medicaid payments. Vermont must also set monthly primary care spending targets per resident and a schedule that raises them over time. By January 1, 2028, the Agency of Human Services must submit the targets, schedule, and recommended payer-specific adjustments, including age and health status.
Patients get notice before drug coverage ends
Beginning June 18, 2026, insurers must give affected patients at least 60 days' notice before removing a drug from coverage. This applies to drug lists managed by the insurer or its pharmacy benefit manager. You must have filled the drug during the previous 12 months to receive this notice. The notice must say coverage is ending and give the end date. It gives you time to discuss alternatives, but does not guarantee continued coverage.
