For tax years beginning January 1, 2025, or later, Wisconsin expands its business development tax credit. Eligible investments include businesses’ own capital spending and contributions to third parties that build or repair workforce housing or start childcare programs. Contributions to local revolving loan funds for these purposes also qualify. The housing or childcare program no longer has to serve the business’s employees. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation determines awards, still capped at 15% of housing investment and 15% of childcare investment.
