Tribal governments can copy vital records for administrative use

The law lets tribal governments and their employees copy certified vital records for government work. The copy must say "FOR ADMINISTRATIVE USE." The copy must be used by the tribal government, including uses listed in s. 45.04(5). These copies are not subject to the state’s copying penalties. The law also defines "tribal government" as the government of a federally recognized tribe or band in Wisconsin.
