Large counties must seek newspaper bids

The law applies only to counties with 250,000 or more people and at least two English daily newspapers. In those counties, at the annual meeting, the county board must tell the clerk to invite bids from the English daily papers. The bids cover printing and publishing the board’s proceedings and all county notices and ads for the next year. The board may split or group the work when asking for bids. Counties that do not meet both tests are not covered by this bidding rule.
