Fewer counties must seek newspaper bids
Wisconsin’s newspaper bid requirement applies only to counties with at least 250,000 people and at least two English-language daily newspapers. At its annual meeting, the county board must direct the county clerk to invite proposals from those newspapers. Proposals cover printing and publishing county board proceedings for the next year. They also cover all notices and ads authorized or required for the county board, officers, boards, and departments that year. The county board can divide the work into groups and share it among newspapers.
