New crime for fleeing across counties or state lines

Beginning July 1, 2026, Wyoming makes "absconding for criminal purposes" a crime. You commit this crime if, after committing a crime under Title 6 or the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act of 1971, you travel to another Wyoming county or leave the state to evade or elude law enforcement, to commit another such crime, or to hide or dispose of proceeds or property from the crime. The penalty matches the penalty for the most serious related crime that was committed, intended, or furthered by the travel. This adds a charge for people who flee across county or state lines after crimes.
